When we talk about coffee, it’s always about which shops provide the most flavorful drinks or create the most authentic coffee experience. We seldom talk about where to get the best locally grown coffee beans. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Gourmet Farms, a premier coffee roaster in the country.
Gourmet Farms’ facility and farm are nestled in a 12-hectare land in Silang, Cavite. A staff accompanied me to check out the different structures and farmlands. Unfortunately, I was not able to see the entire complex. The owners allow the farmers to live on the land and treat it as their own. These farmers, in turn, work diligently to make sure that they have enough beans to ship—around 124 metric tons of coffee every month!
It was a good idea to visit the farm in the morning because I was able to appreciate its beauty. The Country Store that displays their coffee beans and other products would welcome you.
I got to sample some items in their All-Day Breakfast menu which include the delicious combination of Italian Style Adobo with salted egg, Omelette topped with pesto sauce (Php 220), and a Filipino Breakfast. For the Filipino breakfast you can choose from Beef Tapa, Pork Longganisa (Php 280), Tocino, Tawilis, Dried Biya, and Gourmet Sardines (for only Php 250). Since I follow the Ketogenic diet, Beef Tapa was my choice. Their other bestsellers include Rosemary Salpicao (Php 280), Kebab (380), and Primavera Pasta (Php 250). They also serve light meals like Gyro (Php 320), pita wraps with either chicken or beef with vegetables and tzatziki sauce. The Gourmet Burger (Php 300) is also to die for.
For drinks, I tried the Mocha Frappe (Php 150). They also have a wide selection of Gourmet coffees, Herbal teas, and Coolers. Let’s not forget desserts! They have Coffee Brownies (Php 200), topped with real coffee beans, assorted cookie variants like Rosemary, Ginger, White Chocolate, and Mocha.
The layout of the Gourmet Farms would really invite you to take a tour of the estate.
Aside from the organic farm, The Dining Room, and Gourmet Cafe, they also have a secluded area called The Sanctuary where is perfect for retreats. You can book a 3-day retreat with them as well.
I had the ultimate coffee experience at the Coffee Lab.
Gourmet Farms products are available in leading supermarkets and organic stores. I highly recommend booking a farm tour with them, You will appreciate all the hard work that goes into one experiencing one great coffee experience.
