One of the main reasons why I started this blog is to be able to share my advocacy of health and wellness. I’ve lived through several losses, the biggest of which were my parents. I lost my mom to cancer, and just recently, my father to heart disease and diabetes.
I see both of these as wake up calls, telling me to deliberately and intentionally take care of my body and live better. A big part of this is being smart about what I eat, making sure that it’s nutritious, clean, and organic. So now, I am constantly on the hunt for awesome organic meals and produce for myself and my family.
Recently, I stumbled upon an amazing place in Westgate Alabang called Earth Origins Marketplace + Cafe. I came here one afternoon to write after my bible study. It isn’t just a good place to go for a healthy meal, but also for grocery shopping.
On the ground floor is the marketplace area. I love that you can come here to buy frozen organic meat, chicken, and fish. They sell fresh vegetables, an assortment of ingredients and condiments, and drinks, too. They even have organic household cleaning and personal care products.
The floor above the shop is a small cafe. I love their food, especially those made with fresh vegetables. The Nature Farm Salad and the Protein Boost Salad are must-try items on their menu. Other delicious starters are the Korean Style Fried Cauliflower, and the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup.
If you are looking for something more filling, you should definitely try the Organic Grilled Pork Chop, which you can get with either red rice or roasted potatoes. The Pesto Mango Pasta and Veggie Burger are both excellent choices as well.
Earth Origins doesn’t serve dessert yet, but their Freshly Brewed Lemongrass Iced Tea and Fresh Raspberry Lemonade serve both as a palette cleanser, and a refreshing way to cool down on a hot day. They also just started offering an all-day breakfast menu that looks quite interesting. Definitely another reason to come back!
The place is very Instagram-worthy, as are their dishes. The ambiance is homey and comfortable. Seats are limited, though, and tend to get filled up fast during peak dining hours. So, either come early, or be prepared for a short wait.
As you would expect, shopping and dining at Earth Origins is a bit more pricey than its non-organic counterparts. Still, everything is affordable, especially when you consider how beneficial it can be to switch to a more organic lifestyle. I personally don’t mind shelling out a little extra. I see it as an investment for my health, and that of my family, too. For me, it is totally worth it.
I definitely will be spending more time in Earth Origins in the very near future.
