BIO: (Beauty Inside Out) Essence Of A Woman

Bible Verse: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” ~ 1 Peter 3:3-4 NIV

Beauty talks are common nowadays, but it is quite unusual that one hears about a beauty talk that goes beyond the physical. This is what B.I.O. (Beauty Inside Out) Essence of A Woman was all about. This event was held last April 14, 2018 at CCF BF Parañaque, and I was invited by Ms. Delia Saguil of Christ Commission Fellowship BF Parañaque’s Women2Women Ministry to share about beauty and image management.

But before my segment in the discussion, another invited speaker, Dr. Ellen F. Ordonez, who is also my sister in Christ, imparted wisdom about Science of Beauty and Becoming Ageless. Aside from practicing as an aesthetics physician and managing her business “Everyday Eyebrows”, Doc Ellen is also involved in different ministries focused on women at CCF BF. Ministering with Doc Ellen through BIO was a wonderful experience, as both our expertise helped empower women of all ages and sectors, from different areas like Parañaque, Las Piñas, Sta. Rosa, QC, Davao and some Metro Manila outskirts who attended the event.

But like no other beauty seminar, we did not only share about the aesthetic side of beauty but also from whom real beauty comes from. Nowadays, many women from different backgrounds are still not confident due to the changes happening to their  bodies as they age or brought about by the stress of balancing work, home responsibilities, and maintaining healthy relationships. I felt energized by God’s grace as me and Doc Ellen both carried the torch, the beacon of light for the women of varied ages, to share knowledge and best practices on beauty, and especially about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the vital role of being part of a small group.

Ms. TM Says

During my portion, I discussed about what Beauty and Image is, the Aspects of Image, Personal Branding and Appearance, the Power of Etiquette, Communication, and Personal Image. I also opened up to them how the Lord worked in my heart for me to discover the true value of Beauty and Style. Because truth is, Image, Personal Brand, Etiquette, and Communication are all difficult to establish when it stems from a bitter heart.

It was a very memorable moment to witness how these women felt encouraged and empowered discovering their new selves in Jesus Christ. Many women were touched by my sharing and felt the importance of having a relationship with GOD. I received messages through text and Facebook how they have been blessed by God with our talk. And that is mainly why I do what I do—for women to be enlightened that when their hearts are aligned to Jesus and have a loving relationship with him, real beauty comes out. It radiates from the inside out, with a strong essence of confidence because of the assurance of our identity in him.

I would like to encourage my women readers to visit and join CCF Women2women for a fellowship and support group of women from different walks of life. Through this group we share and grow in spirit. CCF Women2women’s mission is to see a movement of women following Christ, and become a transforming influence in their community, for the glory of God. To honor God as we help women experience God’s love and become Christ-Committed followers. Please visit Women2Women BF Homes.

Prayer

Dear God, forgive me that I have looked down on myself far too many times because of what the world or what others have said about me. Thank you Lord Jesus, because in you I find real beauty and my true identity as a woman. Help me to grow in my relationship with you that I may also reach out to other women and help them find their real beauty in you. This I pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
